Studio AYDO
Nicholas Oh and Ayoung Yu are a collaborative artist duo based in New York. Their practice is project-based and interdisciplinary.
Recent projects center on Korean folk traditions and pre-modern rituals, reimagined and recontextualized to reflect Asian American community, migration, and contemporary social and political issues.
Projects are conceived through extensive archival research and critical dialogue and are realized through varied visual processes.
Projects are intended to create an immersive experience and broader dialogue around our research, rather than pedagogical. Whether through the intimacy of viewing an artist book or a sensorialth encounter of a site-specific video installation, they are invested in exploratory projects.
